The top of the frame is square, and the bottom is equipped with miter-cut, diagonal corner braces that give the Separator, from the bottom, an octagonal configuration. This permits the screen to fit securely over the round mouth of the cement mixer. A production model of the Gravel Soil Separator Cap could be produced in a molded thermoplastic polymer; and the Cap might be produced with a series of larger- or smaller-diameter mesh- grid screens to enable the user to sift fine soil if desired. A production model of the Gravel Soil Separator Cap might also be designed with a hinged, opening frame, one that would accommodate (and include in the retail package) a number of differently sized screens for the separation of variously sized materials. The Gravel Soil Separator Cap would be locked in place by a ratchet and strap system which would attach to the mixer. In addition, a steel fork and hook strap could either be included for sale with this product or sold separately for those who use or own a mixer that does not a have a locking mechanism.
