The Lottery App is a downloadable smart phone application through which the user would establish a prepaid debit account (such as via PayPal), restricted to the purchase of lottery games. Design intent is to provide consumers who enjoy playing the lottery a technologically advanced way in which to play their favorite lottery numbers, via a smart phone, tablet, or computer, thus eliminating the need to physically go to a lottery retailer in order to purchase a lottery ticket.
Features & Benefits
The Lottery App would be comprised of a software application that can be downloaded, without cost, from a designated app store. This application would allow the user to set up a prepaid account for lottery purchases, which could be in the form of an online vendor such as PayPal or with one's own debit or credit card. Linked to the lottery’s computer database, this debit account could be used in virtually any monetary increment, with the funds available restricted solely to the purchase of lottery tickets. The application software utilized to play the lottery via the Lottery App would be linked to the state run lottery system. An interactive menu of prompts would be offered when activating the app, with the user setting up a personal password to their account and must be input when making ticket purchases, loading money into the account, as well as when collecting winnings. In this manner, should one be running late and cannot make it to the convenience store to play their favorite six numbers, they would merely access their Lottery App. Following the interactive prompts, the user could then purchase ticket(s) at normal cost, and select the numbers (if applicable), without ever having to visit a lottery retail establishment in order to do so. All features and options germane to standard paper tickets, including options for box or straight lines, etc. would be available through use of this application. As with most lottery games, if there is no winner, the “pot” is extended to the next draw. As an additional consideration, scratch off tickets could also be featured in this application. In addition to state lotteries, popular social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, could sponsor their own games via this application concept, increasing the popularity of the Lottery App. The Lottery App would provide tech-savvy users who enjoy playing the lottery a simpler and more convenient means of playing their favorite numbers or lottery games, any time, any where. A cleverly designed smart phone application linked to the state run lottery, the Lottery App would enable the user to play their numbers, without requiring them to visit a lottery retailer in order to do so. As such, consumers who don’t have time to visit a lottery retailer, are running late, or simply don’t want to waste the gas and time spent driving to a convenience store and standing in a long line to play the lottery, would be able to participate in a lottery by simply launching the app on their own phone. Eliminating the need to manually fill out a ticket, use of the Lottery App could make the once dreaded task of purchasing a ticket quick and easy. Making the task of playing the lottery more appropriate for today's digital world, this cleverly designed application would provide a more practical alternative to purchasing tickets in person.About this page
