Fish On

See the Bite at Night!

The Fish On is a battery-powered, LED night-light and strike indicator that clips to the tip of a fishing rod and flashes to indicate the bite of a striking fish. Designed for bait-fishing at night for species such as catfish, the Fish On would take the guesswork (and the rod-tip bells!) out of night-fishing, and enable anglers to respond to bites they might otherwise have missed. This product could also be used during daylight hours as well.

Features & Benefits

The Fish On f astens to the tip of a fishing rod by means of a chrome alligator clip. The base of the clip supports the power, motion-sensor, and LED light assembly of the Fish On – all of which is contained within a bullet-shaped, clear plastic housing measuring only 1.040 inches in length, with a maximum radius of 0.640 inches. The Fish On is powered by three #1131 alkaline cell “button” batteries that, when a circuit is established through the motion of gold-plated contacts and a system of gold-plated and chrome springs, will power two tiny LED lights – one yellow and one green. These lights are designed to be clearly visible from distances of 20 to 50 yards, and even farther. Mr. Emmert has designed and constructed this intricate electronic device such that a nibble on the bait will activate the yellow light only – and this light will flash with the relatively slight motion of each successive nibble. Should the fish really strike and take the bait, the stronger motion will work through the mechanism of the Fish On to activate the green light – Fish On! – again, with the green light now flashing (along with the yellow) in correspondence to each tug on the rod tip; and now is the time for the fisherman to grab the rod and set the hook. The Fish On presents itself as a compact, lightweight, fully self- contained system that will not only alert the night fisherman to action on the end of the line – but also convey just exactly what kind of action is taking place: a full-fledged strike, or an exploratory nibble. An experienced angler might be able to obtain this information – and make this distinction – by using a bobber or cork, it is true: but one can “read” the bobber or cork only in the daytime. For still-fishing at night, the Fish On offers the angler a superb accessory – a system of clearly visible flashing LED lights that instantly transmits the strength of the fish's bite through the rod-tip motion. No night fisherman will want to be without this compact, affordable accessory – an accessory that will eliminate the guesswork in night-time fishing, and turned what might have been missed bites into more fought and caught fish. In addition, with ridding this type of alert system of obnoxious ringing bells like conventional alerts use, the Fish On would allow users to enjoy either the peaceful sounds of nature, or their music player, with family and friends, without blatant disruption. Cleverly conceived, the Fish On should find an enthusiastic market response.
