Splash Out Safety System SOSS

A Water Safety System for Automobiles

The Splash Out Safety System SOSS is a safety system to be installed in automobiles and activated should one drive into a body of water including lakes, rivers, retaining ponds, swimming pools, or get caught in a flood zone during a storm. The design intent is to automatically activate certain devices and features of the vehicle simultaneously as the SOSS safety features are activated including sending an emergency alert via the vehicle's GPS system, automatic roll down of all power windows, verbal commands to instruct the driver as to what to do, and disengage the vehicle safety belts. As such, the Splash Out Safety System SOSS would enable the motorist and passengers more time to safely exit the vehicle, in the event the vehicle is driven into or swept into water.

Features & Benefits

The Splash Out Safety System SOSS would be comprised of a rectangular shaped control box measuring two inches in height, four inches in length and one inch in depth. This compact unit can be easily positioned in the most suitable location for its operation. When the Splash Out Safety System SOSS is automatically activated, a sequence of events will occur that will enable vehicle occupants more time for safer exiting of the vehicle before it starts to sink below the water's surface. First, the Splash Out Safety System SOSS would activate strategically placed airbags located under the body of the vehicle. At the same time, all of the the windows of the automobile will roll down/open automatically, a GPS notification will be sent as a call for help to emergency personnel and first responders, alerting them to the situation and providing them the vehicle’s exact location. Verbal commands to reassure and guide occupants on what to do in this situation would also commence, giving occupants the ability to think clearly by reducing panic and stress, and allowing for more time to unbuckle and pull themselves together for a quick escape. When the SOSS system is activated, power will be transferred to the SOSS system to preserve battery life and avoid stray voltage loss due to any energizing of unnecessary circuits such as the fuel pump, interior airbags, headlights, heating and A/C (air conditioning), etc. This will all help to preserve battery life. The Splash Out Safety System SOSS will come in three versions: aftermarket, factory installed, and a military version. The year, make and model of the vehicle will determine the capabilities of SOSS system. Other possibilities could include; window lock override, so windows can go down all the way; automatic release of seat belt locks, an occupancy sensor; a rollover kit (which will activate if the vehicle is turned upside down or on its side. Along with opening the windows, this system will cut off the fuel pump, open the hatch back, and on minivans, even unlock the glass hatch, making it easier to exit from the rear interior of such a vehicle. Along with all of the features of the Splash Out Safety System SOSS, one of the most easiest to incorporate into existing motor vehicles with little moderation would be the SOSS occupant safety system. The SOSS will sense occupancy of the vehicle and take action with regards of excess heat or excess cold for occupant(s), this occurs after alert of driver leaving the vehicle.
